Motorcycle batteries with the latest sodium-ion technology
Sodium batteries for motorcycles have been available since 2026. They are the latest achievement in battery development and not only pave the way for more sustainable battery production, but also impress with up to 4x higher starting power on average and only 1/3 of the weight of conventional lead batteries. Further advantages:
The cell chemistry of sodium batteries proves to be very resilient. If the battery accidentally reaches a critically low voltage, sodium-ion technology offers the best chance of avoiding damage, and the original performance is fully restored after charging. This behavior is well documented in practice, but cannot be guaranteed by the manufacturer.
Which charger is required? A standard charger for lead-acid batteries can continue to be used. Sodium batteries can be charged at higher voltages than SLA/AGM batteries (up to 16V), but a battery used in a vehicle should not be charged above 15V to avoid damage to the vehicle's electronics. Fast charging capable up to 5C - the maximum current for a 2 Ah battery is 10 amps!
The state of charge can be easily read from the battery voltage
